TRANSCENDENTAL MUSIC DUO, SILVERMOUSE, RELEASES THEIR FOURTH ALBUM “BEYOND”.

Healing through music is a reality in various aspects. In fact, this practice is a celebration of the union between art and science. The duo Silvermouse knows this and has found ways to benefit people with their therapeutic art. This album, “Beyond,” for example, is the fourth full-length release, and in its eight songs, what you have is a set of sounds and vibrations that, according to the need, captivates fans of abstract art to the simplest music lover. However, you need to feel as much as you hear each emanated sound.

Regarding the compositions, multi-instrumentalist Justin Handley (guitar, violin, mandolin, flute, ukulele, and recorder) and Joanne Hunt (electronic elements) have formed a successful partnership for fifteen years. Each one’s specialty enriches the menu of musical options, although all the songs project onto the listener the sensation of hearing only one. This marriage of traditional and modern can be defined as a peculiarity of these musicians, as this encounter between the traditional and the electronic becomes a reference for the duo. Considering this, it is understood that the creative ability of Justin and Joanne surpasses great barriers.

Starting with “Druids Rising,” which is the opening track of the album, things begin to intertwine over its more than twelve minutes. But, as mentioned before, the time of each theme becomes irrelevant because intervals in a work like this can even compromise meditation or the feeling of traveling through long sonic waves. Therefore, division in this sense would not benefit the production and would deprive us of many things, but there are even sounds here that can act as an alarm clock, as in “Lionsmane” with its arrangement of drums and “Tripgnosis” with its accentuated groove and a delightful guitar solo.

In any case, the intertwining of sounds will always lead you to a state of relaxation for healing fatigue, stress, mental overload, and even help in visualization. Still, about this album, you need to know that it was recorded live in an Earthship Puerto Rico, so the sound is captured with more essence and honesty. Perhaps that’s why, in songs like “Brew 42,” the melody of the electronic base with the contrast of the guitar solo seems to dance through the waves they themselves create. Such magic can only be found in special works like this.
